History of The Coven

Coven Of The Goddess Moon was Founded by Lady Danu and Lord Morpheus on Mabon 2000. We are Hived from The Temple of Horus and The Rowan Grove. Lady Danu and Lord Morpheus also received training from Coven Tropic Moon. There, they were initiated into the Long Island Gardnerian tradition.  Lady Danu and Lord Morpheus were also initiated in the The Green Witchcraft tradition by Ann Moura in 2004.

On Samhain 2000, Lady Danu and Lord Morpheus initiated their first students, and a coven body was formed. Lady Danu and Lord Morpheus have since initiated and trained many students. Coven Of The Goddess Moon adopted a set of bylaws in January 2001. Coven of The Goddess Moon has been growing and moving forward ever since.

Coven Of The Goddess Moon joined Covenant Of The Goddess and became members of the Everglades Moon Local Council on Litha of 2007.

On July 20th, 2008, Coven Of The Goddess Moon recognized its first official hive as Lady Novae Ma'at, hived from Coven Of The Goddess Moon to begin Temple Of Our Lady Of The Moon in Cartersburg, Indiana.

On August 23rd, 2008, Coven Of The Goddess Moon recognized its second official hive as Lady Nyx Theia, hived from Coven Of The Goddess Moon, to begin taking students and to form Cirlce Of The Rose And Sword in Lake Worth, FL.

On September 14th, 2008, Coven Of The Goddess Moon recognized its third official hive as Lady Kittala Qetesh and Lord Luminhawke Sokar, hived from Coven Of The Goddess Moon, to begin taking students and to form Temple of the Crook and Flail in Orlando, FL.

On Feb. 21st, 2009, Witch Queen and Magus of the Isian tradition, Queen Lady Neith and Magus Lord Jacobus acknowledged and bestowed upon Lady Danu and Lord Morpheus the titles of Witch Queen and Magus of the Progressive Wiccan tradition.  These titles were bestowed in a public ceremony attended by many members of the local Pagan community.  Queen Lady Danu and Magus Lord Morpheus have three official hives that have branched from Coven Of The Goddess Moon.

On Litha, June 13th of 2009, Coven Of The Goddess Moon became the first official member coven of the W.R.C.F.

On Litha, June 20th of 2010, Coven Of The Goddess Moon closed its temple.
